Michael J. Stearns, P.E., Vice President

Michael moved from New York to Santa Maria in the 1960's graduating high school in ‘68, obtained an A.S. at Hancock Community College in 1970, his B.S. in Civil Engineering from San Diego State University in 1973 and his M.S.C.E. from the University of California, Berkeley in 1974. He is a registered, Civil Engineer No. 26406, and is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers and American Congress on Surveying and Mapping.

Mike started his career with Fluor Engineers and Constructors in Irvine, California where he designed concrete and steel structures for petro chemical facilities and site engineering for processing plants. In 1977 he moved on to Neste, Brudin and Stone, Inc., in Hemet, California doing engineering, land development engineering, pipeline design, surveying and contract administration and for a brief period of time performed like services for Psomas and Associates in Riverside. In 1986 he joined NBS/Lowry, Inc., in Hemet (formerly Neste, Brudin and Stone), where he served as a project manager for land development projects, pipeline design, site engineering and highway projects. He served as Regional Vice President from 1988-1995 being responsible for the Temecula, Hemet and Palm Desert operations including business development, engineering and legal relations. In 1995 he rose to President of the organization responsible for operation of offices in San Diego, Hemet, Temecula, Irvine, San Bernardino and Phoenix, Arizona. In 1997 Mike joined Engineering Resources and serves as its Vice President and project manager. He is currently involved in site engineering, water facilities design, surveying and assessment engineering out of the Hemet office.

Mike resides in Hemet with his wife Susan and has one married daughter, Sara, three grown step children and two grandchildren. He is an avid baseball fan and enjoys mountain biking.
